To prepare our students to become future model British Muslims, our curriculum will be based upon and incorporate the principles of the National Curriculum. It will be tailored in such a way to enrich it with the aspects of Islamic values and teachings.
All students will be taught 30 lessons per week and each of these lessons will be 50 minutes long. All students will attend the daily acts of collective worship as well.
Students will be studying the following subjects from the British national curriculum
Primary(KS1 and KS2)
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- History (including Islamic History)
- Geography( including Muslim world)
- ICT
- Physical Education
- Art and Craft ( Islamic Art & Craft)
- Technology
- Music (Nasheed & Qiraat)
- Modern Languages ( Including Arabic)
- Religious Education
Our plan is to start secondary school in the same building in the future years having started the primary school, Insha-Allah. All students will study Religious Education and they will be entered for GCSE Religious Education examination.
SRE
The National Curriculum requires that Sex and Relational Education to be taught at school. As a Muslim school, we will teach this subject in a sensitive manner from an Islamic prospective. The curriculum will be tailored according to age of the child.
For example, 5-7 years old will be taught the Islamic concept of family life, where as a young person who is reaching the age of puberty will be taught the emotional, Social, moral aspects of puberty and the religious ethics of puberty. Fiqhi masials related to puberty will also be taught as required.
Religious Education
We will have an extensive curriculum for religious education. There will be two 50 minutes sessions of Religious Education daily. Some of the topic will be covered in these classes will be:
- Faith
- Tajweed
- Life of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)
- Manners in Islam
- Tafseer
- Hadiths
- Fiqh
The Fiqh side of the Religious education will be mostly from the Hanafi school of thought but we will try to cater for the fiqhs of other three Madhab (Maliki, Hanbali and Shafi’i) depending on the background of the student.
Tarbiyah Programme
The school will develop a Tarbiyah programme in order to inculcate the teaching of Islam into life of students and staff. The programme will focus on the following areas:
- Worshipping Allah
- Practising Sunnah
- Duties and responsibilities towards family, community and country
- Respect for others
- Personal rectification
